Let's Relieve Regret Podcast

And then yesterday, I deleted my book (with Guest Jyoti Dhanota)

Season 4 Episode 9

On this episode, we welcome special guest Jyoti Dhanota (a.k.a. Geet- full bio below the episode description).

During our check-in, everyone is feeling pretty upbeat and enjoying some much-needed sunnier weather.  We also have a laugh about how confusing  it is to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit and vice-versa.

For the Causes for Applause, Shadoe is happy about upcoming alone time, Geet had a wonderful meditation class earlier in the week, and Victoria celebrates life-long learning.

To skip the check-in; tune in at 15:57

Shadoe then opens up about a bad habit she has picked up, and that is allowing nostalgia to put her in a bad mood. For example, when she is missing her old neighbourhood, she downplays the benefits of her current neighbourhood, and gets into that self-doubt place.

Geet then has a helpful tool to use here - and that is setting a timer for "Worry Time", or, in Shadoe's case "Nostalgia Time".

Then, Geet opens up about a powerful moment that happened the day before we recorded the podcast - she deleted her latest book! And, instead of that feeling scary, it felt freeing.  As she says in the episode "I felt like it's gone, but I didn't feel empty."

We then have a fruitful discussion about family expectations and the challenges we face when turning certain ages. Funnily enough, it's not the number that matters, but, how we feel about those numbers throughout our lives.
